Modernizing Twitter Ads BI

Preparing for analytics

Do you spend more time on data preparation or analysis? If you’re like most data analysts, you spend most of your time exporting CSVs, hacking spreadsheets, maintaining Python scripts, and managing databases. And you do all this hard work just for managers to ask why your reports don’t include today’s data. Your data deserves better, and so do you.

Automating data management

That laborious process of syncing and synthesizing data is called data management. Yes, it’s important—everyone knows good analysis requires good data. But every minute spent managing data is a minute that could be spent on analytics. The good news is that these processes can be automated and managed in the cloud without any complicated scripts or engineering expertise.

Your Twitter Ads data analytics platform

Panoply is the easiest way to sync, store, and access your Twitter Ads from all your business intelligence tools and analytical notebooks. It only takes a few minutes to connect your Twitter Ads data to Panoply. Once connected, Panoply will automatically refresh your data as it changes. There are no scripts to maintain or processes to manage. You can focus on what matters your data and your business.

Expected Twitter Ads Data
Here’s a sample of the Twitter Ads data that you can sync, store, and access with Panoply:
Accounts
Advertising accounts are at the top of the Twitter Ads API hierarchy. Together with Twitter user accounts, these two types of accounts are involved in using the Ads API.
Campaigns
Campaigns define the schedule and budget of an ad. The advertiser specifies a daily and overall budget. The campaign can be bound to a specific start and end time or run continuously until the budget is spent.
Funding Instruments
Funding Instruments comprise the source of the campaign budget. Funding Instruments can not be created via the Ads API, they have to be already established by the advertiser's account manager.
Line Items
Ad groups, known as line items in the Ads API, exist under campaigns and are used for targeting and bidding against a set of Twitter users. Advertisers promote Tweets or media by associating them with a line item.
Promoted Tweets
Promoted Tweets are ordinary Tweets purchased by advertisers who want to reach a wider group of users or to spark engagement from their existing followers.
User Timeline
This resource contains a collection of the most recent Tweets posted by the user. The timeline returned is the equivalent of the one seen as a user's profile on Twitter.
