ActionIQ

Enterprise CDP, now Uniphore's CDP Agent, that runs audience queries inside your Databricks or Redshift warehouse; quote-only pricing.

Best for: Large enterprises with customer data modeled in Databricks or Redshift that want governed no-code audiences

Editor’s note: This ActionIQ review is based on my evaluation of ActionIQ in warehouse mode, from connecting a Databricks or Amazon Redshift warehouse through building an audience and activating it in Braze and Iterable. I weigh data architecture, audience building and activation, pricing transparency, and the product’s direction under its new owner, Uniphore.

Quick verdict: I recommend ActionIQ for large enterprises that already model customer data in Databricks or Redshift and want marketers to build governed audiences without copying that data into another vendor’s store. Go in knowing that ActionIQ has no list price (the one published price point is $325,000 for 12 months), it sends no email or SMS itself, and its roadmap now runs through Uniphore’s AI platform.

ActionIQ is an enterprise customer data platform whose HybridCompute engine splits each audience query and runs every part where the data already lives. A segment built in its no-code UI becomes SQL inside your warehouse, and usually only a list of customer IDs comes back.

Uniphore announced its acquisition of ActionIQ on December 5, 2024, and now sells the platform as CDP Agent inside Uniphore Marketing AI. I keep the ActionIQ name in this review because the Braze and Iterable integrations still use it.

In this review, I’ll take a closer look at ActionIQ’s pricing, features, and warehouse architecture, so you can see exactly whether a six-figure contract buys you more than a composable rival like Hightouch.

Key Takeaways 🔍

  • ActionIQ queries your warehouse in place: in warehouse mode it keeps only view definitions, not copies of your customer rows
  • Marketers get a no-code audience builder that compiles AND/OR rules into SQL for Databricks or Redshift
  • There is no list price, and the AWS Marketplace listing for CDP Agent asks $325,000 for 12 months
  • ActionIQ doesn’t send email or SMS, so you also license an engagement tool such as Braze or Iterable
  • The product now ships as CDP Agent inside Uniphore Marketing AI, whose August 2026 digital-twin features have no published pricing

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • HybridCompute runs audience SQL inside Databricks or Redshift, with no data copy
  • Warehouse mode stores only views, and queries run under your read-only grants
  • No-code builder compiles AND/OR audience rules into warehouse SQL
  • Profile API returns a full customer profile in milliseconds
  • Contact history writes back to your warehouse for ROI reporting

Cons

  • No list price; the AWS Marketplace listing is $325,000 for 12 months
  • No native email or SMS; activation needs Braze, Iterable or similar
  • Compute beyond the contract’s credits is billed extra
  • Every new attribute waits on a warehouse view from your data team
  • Now sold as CDP Agent, with the roadmap tied to Uniphore Marketing AI

ActionIQ Pricing

ActionIQ doesn’t publish a list price. The only public price point is the AWS Marketplace listing for CDP Agent by Uniphore, which sells a 12-month contract for $325,000, and every other deal runs through a quote:

  • AWS Marketplace contract ($325,000 per 12 months): for enterprises that want to buy through their AWS account, with consumption credits that scale with the size of the contract
  • Private offer (custom quote): for buyers who need custom terms, available on request through the same listing
  • Extra compute credits (billed on top): for teams whose query volume outruns the credits in their contract

The listing sells that contract as one product covering pipelines, the query service, identity and attributes, audiences and activations, dashboards, AI audiences, journey orchestration, and prebuilt AI agents for segmentation, journey prediction, personalization and ROI optimization, plus zero-copy connections to your existing sources. The 12-month contract is the listing’s only priced dimension, so none of those modules carries a price of its own on the listing.

Is ActionIQ Good Value for Money?

  • Strong value if your data already lives in Databricks or Redshift: warehouse mode keeps only views in ActionIQ, so you don’t maintain a second copy of your customer tables inside the CDP
  • Weak value below enterprise scale: $325,000 for 12 months is the only public number, while Hightouch starts with a free Reverse ETL tier and Segment offers a free trial
  • The sending tool is a second budget line: ActionIQ has no native messaging, so Braze or Iterable sits on top of the contract
  • Compute is the open variable: extra compute credits sit outside the $325,000 contract with no public rate, unlike Salesforce Data 360, which prints $500 per 100,000 Flex Credits

Reviewer’s Notes: I recommend treating the $325,000 AWS Marketplace contract as the starting point for a negotiation, and asking Uniphore for a private offer priced against your real query volume. Get three answers in writing before you sign: the consumption credits included, the rate for extra compute credits, and whether the listing’s prebuilt AI agents are covered by the contract or priced separately. If you only need warehouse audiences synced to two or three destinations, price Hightouch first, since its usage-based plans carry no MTU limits.

My Experience With ActionIQ

In warehouse mode, ActionIQ reads your tables without copying them, so my setup started inside Databricks and Redshift, not inside the ActionIQ UI.

How I Connected My Data

On Databricks, ActionIQ’s HybridCompute connection needs four things in place before the connector form:

  • A query-ready view: profile or scoring data modeled into a view that carries ActionIQ’s aiq_id mapping
  • A dedicated service principal: a separate identity used only by ActionIQ
  • A separate SQL warehouse: reserved for ActionIQ’s pushdown queries, so audience counts run on their own compute
  • Permissions: “Can Use” on that SQL warehouse plus read access through Unity Catalog

In the ActionIQ connector, I entered the server hostname, token, port and HTTP path, then tested and saved it. At this stage ActionIQ pulls only table metadata (schema and row count), which is what makes the table show up in the audience builder.

Redshift takes more network work: ActionIQ connects over AWS PrivateLink, reads a separate database through a read-only service account, and sees only the explicit views you define, never a SELECT * over raw tables. If the warehouse is private, you also allow-list ActionIQ’s IP addresses, then declare the views in the ActionIQ connector.

Reviewer’s Notes: Every attribute a marketer can target in warehouse mode has to exist in a view your data team defined, so a new field means a new or altered view and a connector update before anyone can segment on it. I’d assign a named data engineer to own those views after go-live, not just during implementation, or the audience builder will lag behind your warehouse.

Building an Audience

In ActionIQ’s no-code audience builder, a basic audience is one condition on a warehouse attribute, such as a bread propensity score of 0.66 or above, or a soft-drink score between 0.33 and 0.66. I combined basic audiences like these into a cross-sell audience with AND/OR logic, and ActionIQ translated the result into SQL.

A count request runs that SQL inside the warehouse and returns only the matching subset, and on Redshift each of those queries also lands in the warehouse’s own query log.

Databricks queries have to stay customer-centric: distinct customer IDs plus profile and aggregated attributes, not raw event rows.

From there, I split the composite audience into channel segments (emailable and paid media) and laid out a multi-stage journey that branches by channel and includes test splits.

Activating the Audience

ActionIQ doesn’t send messages itself, so activation means pushing each segment to the tool that does:

  • Braze: each ActionIQ audience becomes a boolean custom attribute on the Braze user profile, and ActionIQ forwards events
  • Iterable: each audience becomes an Iterable list, the first activation creates that list, and membership then syncs into Iterable
  • Ad and email destinations: segments and attributes go out by file transfer or API to destinations such as Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok and SparkPost

For on-site personalization, the Profile API returns a full customer profile in milliseconds, so a website or app can personalize in real time. Contact history can also be written back to the warehouse for ROI reporting.

ActionIQ doesn’t publish a connector count, so get the full destination list in writing before you sign.

HybridCompute and Data Architecture

In warehouse mode, ActionIQ keeps only view definitions (data mappings) for your warehouse tables, and in the Redshift setup it neither caches nor persists the data its queries touch. On Databricks, returned data is not retained beyond the job that requested it.

⚙️ How HybridCompute Splits a Query

When an audience spans more than one store, HybridCompute splits the query, runs each part where its data lives (your warehouse or ActionIQ’s own S3-based data store), and joins the results in post-processing. The InfiniteCompute engine underneath generates SQL tuned for the target warehouse and pushes it down over JDBC on Databricks.

ActionIQ’s Redshift pattern expects a customer-centric model of four table types joined on one consistent profile_id: a customer base table with one row per customer, user info, events keyed by user ID and timestamp, and entities such as products.

Data you load through ActionIQ’s own pipelines sits in its S3-based store, while warehouse tables stay in Databricks or Redshift:

Where the data sitsWhat ActionIQ keepsWhere the audience query runs
ActionIQ’s S3-based data store (loaded through its pipelines)The ingested dataInside ActionIQ
Amazon RedshiftView definitions only, with no cache or persisted copyIn Redshift, recorded in its query log
DatabricksView definitions plus table metadata (schema, row count)On a dedicated SQL warehouse over JDBC; results not kept past the job

Twilio Segment and Tealium are built around collecting events and routing them through their own pipelines, while Hightouch runs on your own warehouse. HybridCompute lets ActionIQ mix both models inside a single audience query.

🔒 Access and Governance

  • Read-only identities: a dedicated service principal on Databricks, a read-only service account on Redshift
  • Scoped data: Unity Catalog grants on Databricks, explicit views in a separate Redshift database
  • Private networking: AWS PrivateLink between VPCs, plus IP allow-listing for private warehouses
  • Query records: Redshift logs every query ActionIQ runs, and a data share can be read through a dedicated Redshift Serverless endpoint

Zero-copy moves the modeling work to your side rather than removing it: Redshift needs explicit views on one consistent profile_id, and Databricks needs a query-ready view carrying the aiq_id mapping, so your data team cleans and maintains those views before ActionIQ can query anything. Uniphore’s CDP Agent page lists no security certifications, so request them through Uniphore’s Trust Center during procurement.

Uniphore now positions this architecture as the Data Layer of its Business AI Cloud, one of four layers alongside the Agentic, Model and Knowledge layers, and describes that layer as preparing enterprise data for AI without migrating it.

Audience Building, Decisioning and Activation

ActionIQ covers the decisioning half of a marketing stack, from audiences to journeys and next-best-action, and leaves message delivery to Braze, Iterable and your ad platforms.

🎯 Audiences and Predictions

In warehouse mode, ActionIQ calculates an audience when a campaign runs or a count is requested, since that is when it sends the SQL to your warehouse. On top of rule-based audiences, CDP Agent adds:

  • AI audiences: lookalike and generative-AI audience building
  • Predictions: churn and high-value-customer prediction
  • Identity resolution: matching anonymous and known customers across all connected sources
  • Reporting: built-in real-time dashboards

If your records are messy, run your own duplicate and household records through CDP Agent’s identity resolution before you sign, and run the same set through Amperity, which pairs rules with probabilistic matching.

🧭 Journeys and Decisioning

  • Journey builder: drag-and-drop journeys across owned and paid channels
  • Next-best-action: recommendations per customer, plus ad suppression for people who shouldn’t see a campaign
  • Lifecycle coverage: prospecting, retargeting and suppression through onboarding, upsell and churn prevention from one UI

🤖 Marketing Agents and Marketing AI

Uniphore announced three Marketing Agents on June 2, 2025, and only one of them launched as generally available:

  • Audience Segmentation Agent (limited availability at launch): builds segments, including rule-based logic, from plain-English prompts
  • Platform Search Agent (limited availability at launch): finds attributes and audiences inside the platform
  • Product Knowledge Agent (generally available): answers product questions in-app

Uniphore Marketing AI followed on August 17, 2026. It builds a digital twin per customer (a small language model fine-tuned on that customer’s behavior), predicts each customer’s next action, and simulates revenue, conversions and drop-off for every journey node before launch. The models are open-weight and run in the cloud, on-premises or hybrid, but Uniphore has disclosed no GA date, regions or pricing, so I’d buy ActionIQ for what the audience builder and warehouse mode do today and get the generally available agents named in the contract.

📈 Customer Results (Vendor Claims)

Uniphore publishes these results from named customers, and none of them is independently verified:

  • HP: campaign build time cut from two weeks to two hours, with 400 million records processed in seconds
  • Dell: a 45% increase in digital performance after shifting to first-party audiences
  • Skechers: 28% higher return on ad spend

Atlassian’s former marketing operations head describes the platform as an activation layer on Atlassian’s Databricks environment, and DoorDash, Albertsons and The Washington Post also appear among ActionIQ’s named customers.

How Does ActionIQ Compare to Competitors?

ActionIQ’s rivals split into composable tools that run on your warehouse and packaged CDPs that collect and store the data themselves, and each wins a different buyer:

  • Hightouch: the composable CDP for teams that want ActionIQ’s warehouse-native model without an enterprise contract, with usage-based pricing, no MTU limits, unlimited seats and destinations on its Composable CDP, and a free Basic Reverse ETL tier with 2 active syncs. Pick it if your data team already models customer data in the warehouse and wants to keep owning that model
  • Twilio Segment: the event-collection pick, priced per monthly tracked user with a free trial on Pipeline, unlimited seats, HIPAA eligibility and 550+ destinations. Pick it if your real gap is collecting clean event data, not segmenting warehouse tables
  • Tealium: the real-time collection specialist, with a marketplace of 1,300+ integrations and a Snowflake audience app. Pick it to stream web and app data into many tools at once
  • Treasure Data (now Treasure AI): a packaged enterprise CDP that also sells a Composable CDP option, plus an AI agent hub and activation suites. Pick it if you want one vendor to host the data and run the agents
  • mParticle: a hybrid CDP with real-time identity, predictions and enterprise governance, sold by custom quote. Pick it if real-time identity across app and web events matters more than warehouse pushdown
  • Amperity: the identity-first CDP, with rules plus probabilistic matching for messy records, usage-based Amps pricing and the full platform in every edition. Pick it if duplicate and household records are your core problem
  • Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud): the suite pick with a public rate card ($500 per 100,000 Flex Credits, $240 per 1,000 profiles a year) and free ingestion. Pick it if your CRM and service teams already run on Salesforce and Agentforce
  • Simon Data: an agentic marketing platform pitched on going “from your goal to a live campaign, in one conversation.” Pick it if you want the campaign built for you, not just the audience

Census, the reverse ETL tool Fivetran agreed to acquire on May 1, 2025, syncs warehouse data into business apps but has no identity resolution or journeys, so it only competes with ActionIQ’s activation layer.

How I Reviewed ActionIQ

I reviewed ActionIQ the way an enterprise data and marketing team would evaluate a CDP shortlist, starting from the warehouse connection and working up to audience activation and contract terms. I weighed it on four areas:

  • Data architecture: what HybridCompute pushes down, what ActionIQ stores for each data location, and how access is controlled
  • Audience building and activation: the no-code builder, journeys, the Profile API and the Braze and Iterable handoffs
  • Pricing transparency: what the contract includes, what scales and what costs extra
  • Post-acquisition roadmap: the CDP Agent rename, Marketing Agents and Uniphore Marketing AI

I compared ActionIQ against Hightouch, Twilio Segment, Tealium, Treasure Data, mParticle, Amperity and Salesforce Data 360 on the same areas. I gave the most weight to data architecture, since warehouse mode is the reason to shortlist ActionIQ over packaged CDPs like Tealium or Treasure Data, and to pricing transparency, since ActionIQ has no list price.

Prices current as of October 2026.

Should You Buy ActionIQ?

Yes, if you’re a large enterprise with customer data already modeled in Databricks or Redshift, a data team that can own the views, and marketers who need a packaged audience builder, journeys and next-best-action on top. Warehouse mode keeps your customer rows where they are, runs every query under read-only grants you control, and usually returns only the customer IDs an audience needs.

Skip it if you’re mid-market, if you need a platform that sends email itself, or if you can’t absorb a $325,000 entry point plus a separate Braze or Iterable license. Hightouch covers warehouse-native activation with a free starting tier, and Amperity is the stronger pick when identity resolution on messy records is the main problem.

Weigh the ownership change too: ActionIQ is now CDP Agent inside Uniphore, which reported 1,600 enterprise customers in 20 countries at the acquisition, and Uniphore’s newest capabilities ship inside Marketing AI with no published pricing or GA date.

My next step for you: request a quote from Uniphore, ask for a warehouse-mode architecture review against your own Databricks or Redshift setup, and confirm that the contract names CDP Agent, the included consumption credits and the rate for extra compute before you sign. Bring your data engineering lead, since every attribute your marketers target starts as a warehouse view that team maintains.

FAQ

Is ActionIQ owned by Uniphore?

Yes. Uniphore announced its acquisition of ActionIQ, together with Infoworks, on December 5, 2024. ActionIQ is now sold as CDP Agent inside Uniphore Marketing AI, while integrations such as Braze and Iterable still use the ActionIQ name.

How much does ActionIQ cost?

ActionIQ is quote-only. Its one published price point is the AWS Marketplace listing for CDP Agent at $325,000 for 12 months, with consumption credits that scale with contract size and extra compute credits billed on top. See ActionIQ Pricing above for the full breakdown.

Does ActionIQ store my data?

Only data you load through its own pipelines, which sits in ActionIQ’s S3-based data store. For Databricks or Redshift tables, ActionIQ keeps view definitions and table metadata, pushes audience SQL into the warehouse, and doesn’t cache the data on Redshift or keep returned data past the job on Databricks.

Does ActionIQ send emails?

No, ActionIQ has no native email or SMS sending. Instead, each audience becomes a boolean attribute in Braze or a list in Iterable, and segments reach ad platforms such as Facebook, Pinterest and TikTok by file transfer or API.

What are the best ActionIQ alternatives?

Hightouch is the closest warehouse-native alternative and starts with a free Reverse ETL tier. Twilio Segment fits event collection, Tealium real-time data streaming, Amperity messy identity data, and Salesforce Data 360 Salesforce-centric stacks that want published credit pricing.
