The Panoply directory: every data tool, one honest card each

This is the Panoply directory: every data tool we review, sorted into the 15 categories a working stack is built from. One card per tool with the vendor’s real price, the free tier spelled out, what it replaces, and a Panoply Score we can explain. No vendor writes their own page.

The seven groups follow the path data takes through a company, from Move data to the AI data stack. Use the pills to jump to one stage, or browse all 15 categories below.

From 2015 to 2026 this address listed the 60-plus connectors of the Panoply managed warehouse. That product was discontinued in 2026 after SQream, its owner since 2021, went into insolvency; the connector pages now point here, and nothing on this site is for sale.

How the directory is organized

Seven groups, in the order data moves: Move data (ingestion and ELT, streaming and CDC), Store (warehouses and lakehouses, real-time analytics databases), Transform and orchestrate (transformation, orchestration, semantic layers), Analyze (BI and analytics), Activate (reverse ETL and CDPs), Trust (observability and quality, catalogs and governance) and the AI data stack (vector databases, document parsing and RAG frameworks, LLM observability and evals, MLOps and feature stores). Each category ranks its tools in the order we would shortlist them: Snowflake before its challengers, Fivetran next to Airbyte. Categories without reviews yet say “reviews coming” on the card, so you can see what is on the list before it lands.

Reading a tool card

  • Price label: the entry point in plain words (“Free tier”, “From $10/mo”, “Quote only”), taken from the vendor’s own pricing page and stamped with the date we checked it. Vendors change plans without telling anyone, so confirm on the day you sign.
  • Panoply Score: one number out of 100 built from six weighed areas: pricing transparency, real-world adoption signals, development momentum, openness and exit costs, practitioner sentiment, and our editorial verdict. The full method is public, and sponsors and affiliates cannot change a score.
  • Best for: the buyer the tool actually fits, in one line, next to the free tier, deployment options and what the tool replaces.

Run one of these tools? Claiming your page is free. You cannot write the review, but you can correct pricing, deployment and integration facts, add a logo and a demo link, and we verify and update. Sponsored placements exist, sit beside the list, and always say so.
