Article summary

Warning:

We do not recommend changing advanced settings unless you are an experienced Panoply user.

For users who have some experience working with their data in Panoply, there are a number of items that can be customized for this data source.

  1. Exclude zero metrics: When selecting metrics without any segments, you can select to exclude records in which all the selected metrics are equal to zero. When selecting segments these records will be excluded automatically. Read more here
  2. Destination Prefix: The default destination prefix is googleads. Each resource has its own destination table, prefixed with googleads_.
  3. Incremental Load: When selecting a date related segment, Panoply will extract the data incrementally based on the granularity of the the selected segments. The default initial collection is 365 days ago.
  4. Conversion Window: Panoply will collect data since the incremental load's value minus the conversion window value. The allowed value for the conversion window is any number between 1 and 90. This option is only available in incremental loads. The default value is 30.
  5. Select Start Date: When not selecting a date related field, Panoply will collect data since the selected date. The same selected date will be used in every collection of the data source unless it will be changed manually. The default value is 365 days ago.
  6. Destination Schema: This is the name of the target schema to save the data. The default schema for data warehouses built on Google BigQuery is panoply. The default schema for data warehouses built on Amazon Redshift is public. This cannot be changed once a source has been collected.
  7. Parse String: If the data to be collected contains JSON, include the JSON text attributes to be parsed.
  8. Truncate: Truncate deletes all the current data stored in the destination tables, but not the tables themselves. Afterwards Panoply will recollect all the available data for this data source.

7. Click Save Changes and then click Collect

  • The data source appears grayed out while the collection runs.
  • You may add additional data sources while this collection runs.
  • You can monitor this collection from the Jobs page or the Data Sources page.
  • After a successful collection, navigate to the Tables page to review the data results.
